The Nicotine Epidemic In Young People

This refers to the alarming increase in the use of nicotine-containing products among adolescents and young adults, which has reached epidemic proportions in many countries. There are several factors that have contributed to the nicotine epidemic in young people. One of the main factors is the aggressive marketing and promotion of nicotine-containing products by the tobacco and vaping industries, which have targeted young people with appealing flavors, attractive packaging, and social media campaigns.

Another factor contributing to the nicotine epidemic in young people is the misconception that these products are safe alternatives to traditional cigarettes. Many young people, particularly those who have never smoked cigarettes, may be unaware of the potential risks and addictive nature of nicotine-containing products. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance that can harm the developing brain of adolescents, affecting their cognitive function, attention, and impulse control.

Nicotine addiction can lead to long-term dependence, and young people who start using nicotine-containing products are at risk of progressing to cigarette smoking and other forms of tobacco use. Nicotine use during adolescence can also have negative effects on mental health and increase the risk of other substance abuse disorders.

Our Mission

We aim to inform the public about the current Nicotine Epidemic, how it relates to the youth of today, the dangerous effects of it, and how it can be prevented. We seek to de-stigmatize the topic in hopes of preventing teens from starting, and helping those who use ENDS devices quit.
